Hot Breakfast

Mission Statement:

Crescenta Valley MOPS is an open, accepting, loving, fun, welcoming place where moms can encourage and be encouraged as women and sisters in Christ; where they can live out a life of peace and freedom without judgement; and where they can become equipped for the adventure.

What We Do:

Here at Crescenta Valley MOPS, we want every mother to know that what she does matters and that she isn’t alone.  We meet the first and third Wednesdays of the month (September through May) at Community Life First Baptist Church in La Crescenta from 9:00am to 11:30am.

We share a hot breakfast, enjoy getting to know other moms in a similar place in life, and share the triumphs and tribulations of raising children.  We listen to inspiring speakers on a  wide range of topics affecting mothers from the importance of building and maintaining friendships to managing stress/anger;  from decluttering your house to keeping things lively with your hubby…if you get my meaning.

We do all of this while our children are being cared for upstairs.  With MOPS Kids, our children are being taught values, music, and art in a curriculum that correlates with what we moms are discussing downstairs.

Ultimately, we believe that in order to be the best moms we can be, we must make an intentional effort to invest in ourselves as women.  Crescenta Valley MOPS seeks to directly combat the loneliness, isolation, and/or depression that many moms can experience when their children are young.  We, as moms, need to make time to build authentic relationships with other moms who can meet us where we are.  Which leads us to…

Moms’ Night Out!

We make a point of scheduling regular nights out for moms only.  Leave the kids at home and come fellowship with the gals!  We try to schedule monthly MNOs.

Play Dates and Special Events:

MOPS also arranges regular play dates, even in the summer months when we are not holding official meetings.  Members also get together in smaller groups to hit certain parks, zoos, museums, etc.

MOPS holds various fundraising events throughout the year.  These events can include eating at a particular restaurant on a particular day, Dollar Days (exchanging outgrown toys and clothes with other MOPS moms for a $1 an item), and the Bunco Night!

See our “Upcoming Events” page for more!

Mentor Moms:

Mentor Moms are older women who provide comforting support.  Mentors have gone before you, have wisdom to share and are praying for you to succeed.

“My MOPS Mentors have touched me for eternity, made me a better mom and loved me where I was at.”
Maria, MOPS Mom
